Call for contribution to Geodata Discoverability Online Workshop January 2024
After a first successful edition in 2022, Eurogeographics and EuroSDR jointly organize a second Geodata discoverability online workshop, from 16/01/2024 13:30 to 17/01/2024 12:30. We warmly welcome presentations and hands-on exercises for this new edition.
This workshop aims at achieving a common vision of what discoverability is nowadays, thanks to exchange between different perspectives on that field: public or private actors, local or global, GI specific or not. Optimizing the chance of potential users to find data relevant to their needs requires various tools and technologies that complement each other. The discovery process should also be more intertwined with current application development and data exploitation.
Please consider contributing to this workshop with your perspective on (Geo)data discoverability, with a presentation or some ideas for hands-on exercise to share with participants. Following the previous edition's recommendations, we especially welcome developers’ perspectives.
The report for the previous workshop is available at https://www.eurosdr.net/publications/workshop-report-geodata-discoverability-2022
Please get back to Benedicte Bucher, Benedicte.Bucher@ign.fr, and Marcin Grudzien, Marcin.Grudzien@gugik.gov.pl, to express your interest to contribute or for any questions, at the latest on November 27th.
