Christine Ressl
Short biography
Christine works in the Remote Sensing Department at the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV). She studied geodesy and geoinformation at the Vienna University of Technology and finished with her diploma (Dipl.-Ing.) in 1997 and with her PhD (Dr. techn.) in 2004.
After her diploma Christine worked as a research assistant at the Vienna University of Technology in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing. In 2002 she moved to the BEV into the Remote Sensing Department. She was engaged in data analysis and classification of aerial images. Since October 2013 she is head of data acquisition in the Remote Sensing Department.
About the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV)
BEV - The Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying is a subordinate authority of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs. The metrology service consists of the National Metrology Institute (NMI) and the national legal metrology authority of Austria with 9 Verification Offices all over Austria. The main tasks in the field of Surveying and Geoinformation are Control Survey, Remote Sensing, Landscape Information and Cartography with a central office in Vienna and administration and maintenance of the cadaster mainly executed through more than 40 Cadastral Offices in Austria.
