The National Plan for Land Observation/Plan Nacional de Observación del Territorio (PNOT) from the Instituto Geográfico Nacional/Centro Nacional de Información Geográfica (IGN/CNIG) in Madrid, Spain, has received the "2013 United Nations Public Service Award (UN/UNPSA)" in the category 4° (Europe and North America), promoting "Whole-of-Government Approaches in the Information Age". 

This award is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service. It rewards the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions that lead to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide.
